Tina Ventiquattro Allen Announces Candidacy for Elk County Democratic Committee Chair

ST. MARYS, Pa. –– St. Marys resident Tina Allen has announced her candidacy as chairwoman for the Elk County Democratic Committee.

"Having been planning committee chair for the last four years, I was very involved in all aspects of the party," she said. "There are several ideas that I feel would hopefully help to expand the party and move forward."

If elected, she plans on establishing a diverse executive committee and serving more community members. She also desires to see more youth get involved in the committee.
Another idea is to establish a board to help facilitate the appointment of any employment positions that are awarded to the party.

"The committee for jobs is that Elk County Democratic party is often given summer jobs," Allen said. "It has caused some trouble in the party. That is why I want a committee for that purpose."

Allen has worked in all facets of the democrat committee, serving as precinct chairwoman, getting petitions signed for local, state and national candidates. She has also attended state committee meetings and sat on the Elk County Democrat strategic planning committee.

"I was born and raised in a working class family with strong democratic beliefs," she said. "My great grandfather, an Italian immigrant, was involved in union organizing as was my sister. I understand the importance of family sustaining  jobs."

A homemaker and parochial school systems' volunteer, she has a certificate in accounting from Jefferson Community College, State University of New York, in Watertown, N.Y.
She is married to Mike, and they have a daughter, Justina.
